Imagination: Creation or Discovery?

Hi there, and welcome back to my blog. In this post I hope to express my understanding of imagination: are ideas created or are they simply discovered by the person who looks hard enough?

Is imagination a set of ideas that you create from your own mind, or is it something you discover from the wide system of possibilities? I believe that our minds are doorways to a large galaxy of prospects, and ways to shape life. We are all given the key to this doorway, but how we turn the key defines everything. Every idea, every invention, every dream a great creator has concocted, these notions have all been plucked out from this world of universe of abilities; they’re just the first people to unlock that particular door. To quote a phrase from Christopher Colfer, the writer of An Author’s Odyssesy,Explorers are quick to claim the places they find, but they don’t create the land they raise flags on. Perhaps all writers are nothing more than subconscious explorers, sailing across a sea of other worlds, and you’re just the first to discover ours.” This wonderful phrase suggests that everything is right there, waiting; you just need to know where to find what may be hidden from the eye at first sight.

The Key to the Doorway

The key to the doorway of opportunities is a very special one. Unlike any other key, this one does not become worn or blunt from years of turning it and looking inside. Instead, it becomes sharper and more pronounced every time you think beyond ordinary limits. If you use your imagination regularly, the key slides easily and you think more, dream more, and achieve more. You have the key, but whether you can use it depends on you, and your willing to explore what has not been seen yet. Every time you unlock a door, the room inside gets a tiny bit bigger, allowing more choices, more options to take out from the mysterious world of unknown.

Going Far and Going Further

When seeing something new, do we look from the doorway, our line of sight, or do we delve deeper and explore all we can to ensure there’s nothing we don’t know? This, I think, is exactly what we should do with our imagination. Go to the furthest corner, the highest limit, and see if there is a secret door to more things, more scope for creative thinking. Why swim in shallow waters where there is nothing but seaweed and sand, when you can venture deeper and see colourful corals, and treasure that has been buried but forgotten? Keeping diving, delving, expanding the inside of your room to the point where anything and everything is possible. Something to wonder about is why people say, “Reach for the stars,” when there is obviously so much more than just stars out there.

A Boost

You know how sometimes you need something like a trampoline to reach higher things? Find your trampoline and reach the highest point of imagination. Remember, a rusty key does not necessarily mean a rusty presence of mind; you just need some time to open the door. Imagination is always there, and you can use the key anytime, and anywhere to access the vast multiverse of potential.

Thank you for reading my blog and I hope you’ll read my other ones too. Hopefully this post has given you a new view on imagination and will get you to explore the depths of the unknown further. Thank you, and until then, goodbye!
